The project of the masterplan of the coastal territory of the Municipality of Ravenna, called the Maritime Park, has the dual purpose of recovering the natural pine forest / dune / coastal system typical of the coast of Ravenna and of enhancement of this ecosystem so as to make it usable by the local and tourist community. The landscape is enhanced thanks to a global vision that addresses various naturalistic and environmental regeneration themes, deepening strategies for the recovery of the coast / pine forest system and proposing management interventions useful to realize the set objectives.

The enhancement of the Ravenna coastal portion, considering the inestimable naturalistic value and the considerable territorial extension of the project area, takes place through a series of actions aimed at the naturalistic re-functionalization of the area, the preservation of pre-existing environmental structures and delicate ecosystems.

The project idea is based on the four principles of “Revealing”, “Mending”, “Amplifying” and “Promoting”.

“Revealing” means offering a double view, immediate and close, which relates the sea, the wetlands, the river mouths and the countryside, with the tourism enhancement initiatives provided for in the development plan of the municipality.
“Mending” is to regenerate the balance interrupted in some parts of the coastal territory in the relationship between beach, dune and pine forest, re-establishing a relationship of natural balance.
“Amplifying” the potential of the territory, offering the visitor an unprecedented and surprising landscape, made up of various environments each with unique characteristics.
“Promoting” means maintaining quality tourism throughout the year, through a system of routes that allow the connection and enjoyment of coastal landscapes, offering opportunities for new activities that relate to the valleys and countryside.
