It is the public park of the Riccardo Ricci elementary school, of which represents the fulcrum of the recreational activities and at the same time, the consolidated bond with the social neighborhood.

Environmental quality is pursued as the primary objective of the intervention, paying attention to urban design, the design of green and open spaces and the system of road, cycle and pedestrian connections. The spatial scheme of the park within the elongated area in an east-west direction connects to the square, the heart of the new urban intervention and the center of life of the neighborhood. From this two paths starts a new branch that border a large central meadow where children can freely move.

The scheme wants to think about the possible “specific” functions of an educational and recreational park for children, thanks to the presence of play areas and small sports fields, in addition to its more general role of leisure and rest for different audiences by age, hours of use, etc. The attempt was to generate places with different environmental qualities, but not to establish in a too mechanical way a unique relationship between spaces and “user groups”.

The “specific” areas such as those intended for equipped games and relaxation areas, which require strong physical boundaries or fences, are kept to the west. A large bench-fence delimits the space for children, making it easy for adult companions to visually check them. A glacis of earth acts as an occasional “tribune” for the playing spaces and can host small services inside.
