The proposed organization of the former Pirelli area in Settimo Torinese tries to pursue some general objectives within an urban scheme with a very pragmatic character, starting from a careful interpretation of the context, its limits and its resources, to generate a new integrated environment.

These objectives are rooted in the need to deal with new needs linked to the evolution of lifestyles and the relationship between home and work, in the renewed sensitivity to environmental problems and in the search for innovative forms of socialization and cooperation.

A central space, a ring of roads connected to the main circulation network, two portions of linear park with different design and character to the north and south, a series of paths and minor accents that connect the project area to the center of Settimo: a few simple elements enter the proposal for the territory.

A shopping center to the north-east and a school complex to the south-west represent the poles around the central space, facing all the community functions foreseen by the program. The interface between the community space and the individual dimension takes place through comfortable areas of relationship well connected to the existing network, capable of creating a conflict-free dialogue between the privacy needs of the inhabitants and the desire for sociality.
