The area of the Cesarea Park, part of the larger urban area ‘Stradone Antica Milizia’, is located within the consolidated profile of the urban center of Ravenna, in direct contiguity with the green belt. The design of the proposal is based on some fundamental principles: integrate pre-existing buildings and greenery as much as possible in the new design, maximize the interdependence of the building fabric and open space, giving the latter a form suitable for its use as a “park of Neighborhood”.

We also tried to minimize the crossing of the area with internal distribution roads, adopting a perimeter distribution criterion; finally, clear and meaningful spaces were created, consistent in scale and design with their social use.

The Cesarea park, connected to the wider system of urban parks through the urban “green belt”, aims to generate new balances between social recreational functions and the ecological processes of surface water management of the entire new urban sector.
