The Dunes Park of Porto Corsini is the first important step in the redevelopment of the Ravenna coastline, initiated by the Municipal Administration with the international design competition, assigned to the Maritime Park project. The requalification of the park is part of the public works project “Urbanization of the area serving the Cruise Terminal in Porto Corsini”, which is therefore part of a more complex and extensive intervention of redevelopment and enhancement of the 35 km of coastline of Ravenna.
The whole area is to be conceived as a unitary project where public green spaces and rest areas intertwine with the network of paths and redeveloped roads, alternating with a series of services and equipment to support the area of the tourist terminal through the enhancement of the parking system and the extension of the existing parking area.
The starting point in rethinking this place is the continuity with the natural elements that characterize the coastal system, in particular the dune-pine forest symbiosis.
